Basement Finish: Basement finishes are usually required by our clients to add guest space, play areas for kids, and entertainment rooms of all types. We start by meeting the client to discuss their vision. We help with everything from initial budget and design to final completion of the project.
Tenant Finish: Tenant finish involves finishing commercial spaces for use. These include Doctor’s offices, Retail Spaces, Restaurants and general office space to name a few. Our involvement usually starts with the general contractor, architect or the occupying client. We help with the initial design and budget if necessary and work closely with the general contractor to see completion. We can also work with an electrical engineer to do design build work.
Remodels: Remodel work is done in both commercial and residential establishments. This work involves the rework of existing spaces for either a new look or function. We work with the client and/ or their general contractor to complete these projects. We can offer input on things like lighting options and power requirements for the new space being constructed.
Additions: This is usually required when an occupant is in need of more space. This is done in both residential and commercial spaces. Just as with remodel, basement finishes and tenant finish we work with the client and or their general contractor to accomplish these projects.
Upgrades: These involve all aspects of the electrical system. We do service upgrades where we remove the old electrical service and install a new electrical service. These are usually required when more power is needed, or when the old service no longer meets code. Most electrical system upgrades fall under these circumstances. We do a lot of changes to lighting systems as well for both accent and security purposes. There are also situations where houses have aluminum wiring and because there are a lot of issues related to aluminum wiring our clients opt to upgrade to copper wiring.
Code Correction: As properties age and more people do work on their properties we see issues where things are not done to code. This is usually the case when home owners are ready to sell or buy property. We work with realtors and home owners to correct issues as they come up on inspections. We also work with commercial clients that have a need to comply with fire safety issues for the safety of their staff and patrons.
Lights, Switches, Outlets and Fans: We have clients that have a desire to change the type and color of their electrical devices. This is needed as devices wear out over time and also to accomplish a new look and style. There are new tamper resistant electrical receptacles on the market that are now required in all new homes according to the National Electrical Code. One of our company’s missions is to inform all parents, grandparents, pediatricians and day care providers of these new advances in electrical safety.; As people become more aware of devices like these they are opting to change their current devices for this added safety. We also have clients that are interested in lighting control systems for mood lighting and energy conservation. Lighting is one of the biggest electrical expenses. We now have new technologies to retro fit lighting systems especially in commercial establishment to help our clients save money and help our environment. Excel Energy and the government is offering incentive programs to move over to more energy efficient establishments and as people become aware of these efforts we are called on to assist them with these needs.
Breaker and Fuse Replacement: This is needed as breakers and fuses wear out. This is sometimes caused by overloaded circuits or faulty devices. As establishments age we have found that some breakers and fuses are no longer available and we are able to assist our clients with upgrades to bring their systems up to date. The National Electrical Code requires that most circuits in residential establishments now have Arc Fault protection. We believe our clients who live in older homes should have access to this technology for added safety. We also offer whole house surge suppression units for breaker boxes to protect electrical appliances and electronics, these devices come with manufacturer guarantees that will pay up to $10,000.00 to replace home electronics if a surge in electricity causes damage while these devices are in place.
Fluorescent Lamps and Ballasts: As fluorescent light fixtures age lamps and ballasts fail. There is often a need to repair or replace these fixtures. We are able to help our clients with these decisions and take action to replace or repair these fixtures as needed. We offer maintenance programs to assist in keeping these lights up and running especially in commercial applications. We also help our commercial clients with lighting upgrades for more energy efficient lightings systems. Excel Energy and the government are offering incentive programs to assist in these upgrades.
